This blog originally began as an attempt to keep a diary of my efforts to lose 20 pounds in 20 weeks largely by changing my diet; I wanted to cut down on dairy and bread. I did lose weight but a failure to keep to my planned diet meant there was little point in maintaining this blog.

For a number of years I worked as a chef in a vegetarian restaurant and roll on a year, I realise that blogging my own vegetarian and vegan recipes is perhaps of more interest than an ageing man’s weight loss diary… time will tell.
